MAGNANIMITY must the word of the day

Folks, please be respectful and magnanimous. Celebrate, but don't forget that we have won nothing yet. The real and only big prize is November 4th and that is the day of real celebration. And remember, there will not victory in November without the help and the votes of those who supported Hillary so far and there are more than 17 million of them.

Celebrate, but be respectful, show class, and be magnanimous.

Here's to best behavior, fellow Obama supporters (2.00 / 1)

True.

But sometimes unrequited magnanimity is the most gracious kind, and it might be necessary for a little while.

You have to understand them. They are hurt and they need to time to heal. Emotion are very raw and rubbing our victory in their faces will only make matters worse.

And i repeat again what i said in the diary. There will not victory without the help and votes of Hillary supporters and the real prize is November 4th.

So, please folks be magnanimous, which is the quality of a good classy winner.

No. You don't. (2.00 / 1)

Magnanimity, almost by definition, does not require anything from anybody else. Some incredible class has been shown by a few Clinton supporters on this blog. It would be really nice if everyone on the Obama side did the same.

Needing to see respect and integrity that before you can give it is a show of immaturity.

Re: MAGNANIMITY must the word of the day (none / 0)

There is no immaturity in being magnanimous. It is sign of class. Now, some people have class and some people don't. Which one do you want to be part of?

Re: MAGNANIMITY must the word of the day (none / 0)

I agree, of course.  But I think part of the reason people blog is to find someone to either get into a little snit with or to try to persuade someone to see something differently.  We all have conversations here that we can't really have in our regular lives becuase we'd either piss people off or reveal the true extent of our nerdiness.  That's great.  But it does not lend itself easily to "kumbaya" moments.

Then again, maybe they aren't necessary.  I'm guessing most people around here (with a few exceptions) will be on board in a few months.

Take Daschle off the VP list.  What happened in South Dakota?

I cannot believe the media is already trying to impute nefarious motives to Hillary already about her VP comment.  The media will need her on the ticket or else they'll get bored with Obama-McCain.

What DOES Hillary want?  What IS she looking for?
